Indoor and outdoor experiences are planned offering a wide variety of opportunities. The routine encourages children to socialise with others and experience small groups as well as investigating resources and activities independently or with a supportive member of staff.
The day is structured but flexible to meet the individual needs of the children. A flexible timetable lets us make the most of moments that arise when the children discover something new that interests them. It allows us to extend play periods so children gain maximum learning and fulfillment from what they are doing.
Staff plan for their key children and work with them through focused activities throughout the day. Observations and assessments are made and these inform future planning alongside the children's interests.
From the moment children arrive there will be a choice of activities set out with materials that vary throughout the year.
We offer a wide range of resources that are set out in an attractive way.

Play is natural to children and is the way in which they learn. Through play the children learn new skills, develop new interests, encounter new experiences and build on previous knowledge.
At Fledglings we strive to provide a secure and caring learning environment where children learn through meaningful play using materials and equipment carefully selected by staff and children.
